Abstract: (2 Views)
Tradition (Sunnat) of Imams (AS) contains the Prophet (PBUH) and the Imams’ (AS) words, deeds and Taqrir (when a person did something in the presence of Imam, but Imam didn’t say anything, it shows that action was not wrong based on the religion. Of course this silence of Imam should not be in the condition of Taqiyyah). Tradition is one of the main sources after the Qur'an to interpret the Qur'an and the divine's rules. Thus, the infallibles’ hadiths after the Holy Qur’an has a unique role and position. Tradition has spent many ups and downs throughout its history. A catastrophe happened on Ḥadīth is the period of “preventing quotation and writing ḥadīth” after the demise of the Prophet (PBUH). The first Caliph, prepared this issue and the second Caliph announced it formally. This prevention lasted about a century, until ‘Umar bin ‘Abdul ‘Aziz canceled the order. At the same time, during this period, the Shi’a did not follow government decree; as a result, narrative writing in the first century of the advent of Islam was performed by them. This article seeks to examine the causes and motives of preventing the compilation of the ḥadīth and finally respond to its misunderstandings and questions.
